virtus h Midsummer Madness shows mainly the life out of the big cities and thus there is some beautiful scenery to appreciate. For people, seeing it for the first time, the Hill of Crosses looks very captivating and creates the impression that it is coming out of a fantasy movie. There are also some annoying or not quite feasible details like a very artificially attached kangaroo appearing all of a sudden several times throughout the movie or like portraying Americans as taking a single shower for whole 2 hours. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Art E Loved this unusual comedy. You have to be or know Latvians to truly enjoy this movie but don't let that stop you. It revolves around an American young man's efforts to find his father's mistress and their daughter before his father passes away. Hilarity ensues as everyone prepares for the celebration of the summer solstice. It has a zany cast of characters who flesh out this romp through the midsummer madness that is Jāni. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review Audience Member Mildly amusing at times, the film, bogged down with too many storylines and limited development, does not leave much of a lasting impression. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member eilinį kartą latviai parodė lietuviams kaip reikia filmus kurti :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting characters with a funny plot. Unfortunately the "big twist" at the end isn't that big and not that much of a twist either. And wtf does a kangaroo hopping around in Latvia? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member sometimes stupid, often hilarious, and terribly uneven. being a latvian, i think i can appreciate it a little more than most, but there are still some good laughs to be had here by everyone.
