After losing his daughter, Jurek (Marcin Dorocinski), along with his father-in-law Ben (Daxing Zhang), decides to perform the Chinese ritual of minghun, a post-mortem wedding. "Minghun" is a story about hope, love and the search for the meaning of life and what comes after it. It tells us about the most important emotions and the existential limits of the human experience. For both men, the decision of conducting minghun sparks an emotional journey deep into themselves. The clash of Jurek and Ben's very different cultures is intended to help make both men realize that regardless of their origin, we all belong to one human family, where basic emotions are shared.

Daxing Z The film is in English and Polish. There is no Chinese in it. For some, it's a deeply disturbing film. Definitely not your typical American-Hollywood happy-go-lucky type of story. But for those willing to be deeply disturbed, there is light at the end of the tunnel after they finally make it out of it. And it is a rewarding light, dim as it is. The cinematography is beautiful. Dorocinski, a very bid star in Poland but usually playing just your standard good-looking lead hero roles, really came out of his comfort zone and profoundly challenged himself when engaging in this film. And it really shows. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/25 Full Review Read all reviews
