Robby F This is clickbait. Awful person being fed more attention that she deserves. What a waste of time. She wins in the end because she got all the attention she wanted. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/23 Full Review Audience Member My suspicion as to the truthfulness of Misha’s recounting of her experiences came early on when she claimed that the family who took her in did not like her and even hated her. I find such a claim to be unlikely and dubious, as it would not make sense for a family that hates her to take such an extraordinary risk to care for her and hide her. That family literally put their lives on the line to help her. Such a suspicious claim gave reason to listen to the remainder of her story with a fair degree of skepticism. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/01/23 Full Review Gareth v What starts as an intriguing premise for a documentary quickly turns into a run of the mill, predictable fare. The lack of the main protaganist also leaves a big hole in this movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/17/23 Full Review Melanie E I thought the story was compelling and deeply sad . I thought how it was told in the documentary lacked nuance and compassion. One can only imagine the suffering Mischa went through to not just lose both her parents in a camp , but to witness the public annihilation of her parent's characters . How was Mischa treated by her peers ? What abuse did she suffer ? What ridicule and shame was heaped onto her . On the surface it is horrendous to pretend to be Jewish and that your parents died in the holocaust . Yet her parents were indeed sent to a concentration camp after being horrifically tortured by the Nazis . But they weren't seen as victims , they were seen as traitors. I think we all have read that everyone eventually submits under torture. Mischa escaped the torment and shame by creating this inner world where her parents are r3ally the victims they are and and she created a pack of wolves to protect her from human beings were callously attacking her . That is horrendously sad . This was a young girl whose parents were murdered in a concentration camp and then victimised by society. It's a mark of shame on the society and this fantasy was also created by that society and I find it incredibly sad that she is now condemned and shamed a second time . I believe the real villains are the people who wanted to exploit her trauma , probably knowing this fantasy was a delusion . Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Andrea W This is a very curious documentary; certainly worth the watch for those who enjoy an investigative story about somewhat outlandish claims. I didn't love how the film was set up; the decision regarding chronology and style was not to my taste and felt a bit sloppy. However, one can over look that when taking into account the message being conveyed; an exploration of trauma, childhood coping mechanisms and the careful path one must tread when taking oral account from those claiming to have experienced supernatural or horrific things. Certainly worth the time… Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/06/23 Full Review Katie D Wow. This was a ride. I don't want to spoil anything about this documentary so please go in as blind as you can.
