Cees T Sis: Marry for love! Mom: Marry for money! Jane Austen: *literally dies* 4/10 Very bad. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review richard f A wonderful story about a famous writer in a time when women's fame wasn't most womenrs goal. Enjoyed very much. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved the genre movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Well done! Williams is extraordinary in this role, and the rest of the brilliant cast is just perfect, each one. The script is excellent, reflecting Austen's honest, playful and irreverent wit. The film is more of a character study than a drama, given the "slice of a life" biographical style, so the level of action and conflict is not always lively, but I found the ruminative, contemplative atmosphere appropriate. Visually gorgeous. I loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Part of it was fun - the way her life was supposedly echoed in her books, but parts were also a bit boring. It did raise an interesting question of how fiction may influence people's lives and decisions. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member About romance and pride. I will never look at a Jane Austen novel quite the same again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
