Sad to watch in retrospect. I wasn't too impressed with the filmmaking but it captures some pretty remarkable dynamics of a band whose whole livelihood relies on a singer who is so ill.

Sharon Jones herself gets five stars, obviously. She was an amazing talent an energy, and it was tough not to spend the whole time crying because she's gone. Luckily, some great performance footage provided distraction, as did scenes in Augusta(!). A so-so documentary about a fabulous lady.

I don't think stars work for rating a movie like this. You are witnessing someone fierce go through hell and come out the other side, all the while laughing, fighting, and singing. She was amazing to see in person (which I did twice) and knowing how this all ended up a short while later just makes this even harder to watch. Such a loss.
