Soraya Nadia McDonald Andscape An emotional [and] beautifully rendered story. Sep 26, 2017 Full Review Dwight Brown National Newspaper Publishers Association Miss Sharon Jones! is pure joy. Nov 8, 2016 Full Review Tina Hassannia RogerEbert.com The film's real success lies in having Jones as its primary subject, and that's because she's a wickedly funny, fierce, phenomenal force of nature, a positive, vivacious character whose generosity and charisma touches every single person. Aug 25, 2016 Full Review Kip Mooney College Movie Review Thanks to keen observations in small moments, a lot of raw emotions and an absolutely killer soundtrack, this is a top-notch rock doc. Audience Member Sharon Jones herself gets five stars, obviously. She was an amazing talent an energy, and it was tough not to spend the whole time crying because she's gone. Luckily, some great performance footage provided distraction, as did scenes in Augusta(!). A so-so documentary about a fabulous lady. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member everyone should watch this....she was an incredible woman Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't think stars work for rating a movie like this. You are witnessing someone fierce go through hell and come out the other side, all the while laughing, fighting, and singing. She was amazing to see in person (which I did twice) and knowing how this all ended up a short while later just makes this even harder to watch. Such a loss. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member centers mostly on her struggle with cancer, but features also some candid moments with band members & friends. despite her illness, an absolute incendiary performer when on stage! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review andrew m She is so talented & the movie shows how strong, brave, & inspiring she also is. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member not your typical music documentary. incredibly touching and realistic portrayal of a uniquely talented woman's life and battle Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
