Tom Cruise returns to his role as Ethan Hunt in the second installment of "Mission: Impossible." This time Ethan Hunt leads his IMF team on a mission to capture a deadly German virus before it is released by terrorists. His mission is made impossible due to the fact that he is not the only person after samples of the disease. Like everyone else, I too think this is by far the worst Missions: Impossible film. The third installment is really when this series kicks off in amazing ways, and that is where I would recommend starting this franchise if you are wanting to watch them and haven't yet. The first one is fine to watch, but this one is easily the most skippable one. It is honestly just pretty boring, and I will never forget how laughable the intro climbing scene in this movie is. It is unintentionally corny.

Mission: Impossible II does not deserve the low ratings that it has. The storyline is serious. Both its protagonists and antagonists are perfect. The plot is clear and explained throughout the movie, the story is original and well thought out. Like all movies, Mission: Impossible II has its flaws, but then again, very few. Instead of being “tacky” or “corny” like others have said, this movie is better than the rest.

Maybe the most Year 2000 movie ever made. There were some boring stretches and some corny stuff in it but some absolutely amazing action scenes that more than made up for it, especially the end. The final 30 minutes is just awesome.

Recently re-watched MI:2. Outside of Thandiwe (Thandie) Newton being ridiculously gorgeous in every frame she is in - they movie is horrible. It almost belongs on Red Letter Media's "Best of the Worst." Horrible, over acting, laughable, meaningless slow motion scenes. Dougray Scott is horrible in it, but maybe, John Woo hated him, and used his worst takes. Granted, this was only the second installment in the Tom Cruise franchise and they didn't know where the characters and feel would go in part 3 and beyond, but this is a such a low point. And the bad guy henchmen are all poorly cast and have zero presence and aren't threatening at all - c'mon, the guy from Lost?!
