David Edelstein Slate So is the movie a tacky hoot? Yes, but until the godawful last half-hour it's a surprisingly fun tacky hoot. SkyRo P Mission: Impossible 2 marks the second chapter in the Mission: Impossible series, featuring Tom Cruise. However, this installment feels like a significant departure from the first film and its success. It seems the director struggled to grasp the essence of the original movie and the direction the franchise was meant to take. The result is a film that feels hurried and disjointed, lacking the strong narrative continuity established in its predecessor. There’s a palpable sense of something missing throughout the movie. Tom Cruise shines in his role, and the supporting cast delivers commendably given the material. However, the screenplay falls short of the high standards set by the first film, preventing it from fully capturing the same magic. Fortunately, this misstep didn't derail the franchise entirely, as it could have easily jeopardized the future installments that followed. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/31/25 Full Review Ben B It is the worst mission impossible movie but still entertaining and some of the best stunts of the series it’s not bad but not my favorite Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/30/25 Full Review Jonathan O There's a lot of slow mode and pidgin since hard target and the editing is not good but at least Tom does he's best to save it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/30/25 Full Review qalbi animated M This is still my worst Mission Impossible movie. But i think it's still fine for a movie with so many slow motion sequences that WAS one of the problems of the movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/29/25 Full Review Kim B So insanely bad, I'm so glad I rewatched to confirm my dislike of this. But it still reigns supreme, for worst of this franchise, just above The Final Reckoning.
