David Edelstein Slate So is the movie a tacky hoot? Yes, but until the godawful last half-hour it's a surprisingly fun tacky hoot. May 8, 2025 Full Review Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal There's no grounding in physical reality, let alone in human emotion. May 8, 2025 Full Review Joe Holleman St. Louis Post-Dispatch Woo and company pull this movie out of the dirt, however, with a rocking last half hour. Rated: 2.5/4 May 8, 2025 Full Review Lawrence Toppman Charlotte Observer This movie is straw that refuses to be spun into gold. Rated: D May 8, 2025 Full Review Gary Wolcott Tri-City Herald This probably is Woo's best English-language effort, but it's mostly because of Robert Towne's excellent screenplay. May 8, 2025 Full Review Dennis King Tulsa World Mission: Impossible 2 has all the expected trappings of the campy old '60s TV spy series that a big-screen incarnation should pay homage to. Russell H Decent action. All the face swapping was annoying. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/06/25 Full Review Audience Member This movie generally follows the formula of most spy and action movies, and certainly fits into the mission, impossible mold. I’m not much of a cinephile, and don’t normally notice a slight directorial selections, but the directing in this was terrible. Constant cut ways to waves or buildings or other things. This movie was not only anticlimactic with the final fight scene, which is poorly paste and poorly directed. Some of the set pieces were cool, but this went from being a spy type movie to more of an action movie and didn’t deliver on the promise. The first movie gave us. Probably the lowest in the mission impossible franchise. Probably the lowest in the mission impossible franchise. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/05/25 Full Review R H John Woo nearly ruined the Mission Impossible franchise by his over-indulgent misguided homage to bad spaghetti westerns. The writing is tedious, the acting is painful, the pace is plodding, and overall it's simply abusive to the audience. Overall, a fairly passable action movie; but a simply terrible Mission Impossible. John Woo needs to be kept far away from Mission Impossible. It's no wonder Woo's star set rapidly after this misfire Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/04/25 Full Review 21 - Priyan B An underwhelming sequel. Rating: 6.2/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Lamere W The best way how I can honestly describe this movie? It gets carried by its action a lot There's so many explosions The plot of this movie is not interesting And Some things in this movie is forgettable Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/04/25 Full Review Read all reviews
