Justin Chang Variety Taken strictly as a Cinemax-grade potboiler, "Missionary" is often a hoot, and more effective than it has any right to be. Nov 1, 2014 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times This lean thriller deftly shows how the fervency needed to wholly embrace any one belief or institution can, if unchecked, yield dire consequences. Oct 30, 2014 Full Review John Hartl Seattle Times A Southern Gothic thriller that begins on a high note but fails to deliver. Rated: 2/4 Oct 30, 2014 Full Review Deirdre Crimmins Film Thrills Missionary plays exactly like Fatal Attraction, with an obsessed Mormon missionary rather than the big-haired Glenn Close. Aug 21, 2018 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Things spiral downhill in predictable fashion, squandering a premise about faith and temptation that should have been much edgier and more provocative. Oct 31, 2014 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion Little more than a pallid gender-reversal version of 'Fatal Attraction' with an unseemly religious twist...at best cable-TV fodder. Alexia I Achei o filme estranho, muita cena exagerada. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/24/23 Full Review Audience Member in the theory of crazy men like the movie THE STEPFATHER, this time its a young man who is a Mormon who be friends a young mother and son and even though after some heated nights, the Mormon man truly feels like he belongs to this family and the rest of the town is trying to make him leave. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Missionary is about a young man the falls in love with a separated mother and he has a dark side after their affair is ended by the mum because she wants to rekindle things with her ex he looses it and starts terrorizing the women the son and the dad. In a nutshell he is a wako. The movie is not great and is not recommended. Give it a miss. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Strange. Too much sex for me. Crazed dude. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member cliche but some parts went a little darker than i expected which was good Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member You want this movie to be more but with bad story, acting and no clue...it fails on you. Everything is rushed, it becomes hypercritical and lacking suspense. It wants to be Fatal Attraction with a religious element but instead it becomes a Lifetime movie.
