Steve D Way too bleak for me. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Ronald F The plot is Hitchcockian and follows James Garner through the streets of NY as he searches for himself. The performances by the 4 lead actresses are very good and the supporting cast is excellent. Garner seems a bit lackluster but all in all the performances alone are worth a viewing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Big Garner fan but he's hopelessly miscast here as a confused amnesiac. A more self-involved actor might have given hidden depth to a character that is a complete cypher. Garner is a comedian however, here without the humor he has no way into the character. The suffering here is real, but it's his suffering (and ours) not the character. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Frances H JWell acted, but just too damned depressing for words! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/21 Full Review Audience Member Leading actor James Garner said this about the movie, "I'd summarize the plot but to this day I have no clue what it is. Worst picture I ever made." This, though, isn't as bad a picture as Garner thinks and that's because performances from the supporting cast and cinematography are commendable. But, this psychological drama meanders too much. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Some of the low-budget drama films that MGM made during the mid 60's are masterpieces and this is one of them! Its just so ahead of its time in many ways. Real-life problems are presented in the movie such as unwanted pregnancies, suicide, and abortion (something that any hays code area movie wouldn't dare mention). The cinematography is beautiful!
