B G. Where do I begin. How about the end! It’s a B movie at best. Horrible acting, script, music, repeat! The funniest part was the grandma with horrible makeup and acting. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/27/25 Full Review Spencer B Wow! I don’t think I’ve seen a less impressive piece of trash. Terrible script and directing aside, the sound engineer and editors should be locked up for for the A+ job they did helping this film suck more than if they hadn’t touched it. Please, God, tell me this was written, directed, sound engineered, and color corrected by AI. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/25 Full Review Ronnie Z Fell onto this movie. It wasnt horrible. But super cheesy. A Hallmark feel type of movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/25/25 Full Review Ed R It was great to get all the Lawrence brothers back together but has the feel of a Hallmark Christmas movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/25/25 Full Review Lauren M Ok well I’m late to the party as I just watched this masterpiece. Mistletoe Mix-Up- where do we even begin? First of all, before the opening scene even graced our screen I just knew that Joey Lawrence was going to find a way to break into a full scale performance of a Christmas song. There was not one moment in this movie that called for him to start crooning but his contract must have said otherwise. I skipped so many science classes in high school that I absolutely know what no chemistry looks like so it was easy for me to identify the fact that these people, even the IRL Lawrence Bros, seemed like they just shook hands for the first time. But the best part- Grandma riding off in the dark of night on a horse… who TF is letting this 75+ year old lady ride side saddle through the dense mountain snow. The best part of this movie was the youngest Lawrence brother who was also apparently the director? If he ever ditches the acting and directing thing somewhere there is a PHISH fan tour caravan where I’m 100% sure he’ll fit in. 2 out of 10 Christmas Cookies. Won’t watch again, but respect the attempt. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/24/25 Full Review TheMovieSearch R Mistletoe Mixup is a 2021 holiday film that delivers a fairly average viewing experience. At first glance, the poster and marketing give the impression of a heartwarming, fun holiday movie, and while the film does have moments of charm, it doesn’t quite come together as a fully cohesive story. It’s clear the filmmakers were aiming for a lighthearted seasonal romp, but certain missteps hold it back from truly resonating. The cast largely does a solid job with their roles. The actors bring energy and commitment to their characters, and there are moments where their performances genuinely shine. That said, some of the casting choices felt slightly off, and a few key interactions lacked chemistry, which prevented certain emotional beats from landing as intended. The screenplay is where the film struggles the most. The story feels disjointed, with noticeable gaps in logic and missed opportunities to connect key plot points. Scenes that should have advanced the narrative often felt like they were included more for filler than for storytelling purposes. The film tries to juggle multiple subplots, but the execution leaves several elements underdeveloped, creating a slightly confusing viewing experience at times. Directionally, Mistletoe Mixup does enough to keep the story moving, but it never quite achieves a fully polished rhythm. Certain scenes linger too long, while others are rushed, which makes it difficult to get fully immersed in the holiday world the film is trying to create. There are glimpses of creativity in the visual presentation and festive atmosphere, but they’re inconsistent and often overshadowed by structural issues. Despite these drawbacks, the film isn’t without its enjoyable moments. There are glimpses of humor, warmth, and holiday spirit that make it passably entertaining. For viewers who enjoy holiday-themed rom-coms, the movie provides enough charm to make it worth a casual watch, even if it doesn’t leave a lasting impression. Ultimately, Mistletoe Mixup is an okay seasonal film. It has its flaws in storytelling, pacing, and character chemistry, but the performances and lighthearted holiday moments give it some redeeming qualities. It won’t be remembered as a classic, but it’s watchable for a cozy, low-stakes holiday night. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/24/25 Full Review Read all reviews
