This update of the classic Miguel de Cervantes tale, based on a novel by Graham Greene, follows Father Quixote (Alec Guinness), a Spanish priest who gets promoted to the status of monsignor. Quixote embarks on a trip in his car -- dubbed "Rocinante" -- with his Communist friend, Sancho Zancas (Leo McKern), getting involved in numerous adventures while on the road. As the pair travels around Spain, they experience the country as it continues to transition away from the Franco dictatorship.

Audience Member A truly endearing journey of two elderly, erudite men, each of whom have come to question their opposite faiths (communism and capitalism).
