Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media It has its share of flaws, but this violent killer robot movie somehow manages to use its extensive running time to find interesting gray areas in between its situations and characters. Rated: 3/5 Dec 18, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

ROY Y Monsters of Man, ventures into the tense intersection of technology and morality, offering a chilling yet thoughtful examination of artificial intelligence in warfare. This film revolves around a group of rogue military contractors deploying AI-controlled robots in a remote village. One of the film's most striking qualities is its realism in portraying current developments in AI and warfare. In our era, where nations are increasingly investing in autonomous weaponry, Monsters of Man serves as a cautionary portrayal about the implications of these technologies. This film effectively echoes real-world concerns surrounding the use of drones and AI algorithms that can make life-and-death decisions, sacrificing human-judgmental-perception-based decision-making. By depicting the consequences of unchecked technological deployment, it aptly reflects the ongoing discussions among military ethicists and policymakers about accountability and the potential for catastrophic decision-making. Machines, devoid of empathy and moral reasoning, can lead to tragic outcomes, as this film fantasizes. I was compelled to grapple with the uncomfortable reality that technological progress may outpace our ethical considerations, but I was not deteriorated in my enthusiasm for advancement in modernism in conflict. Moreover, cinematography in this film combines practical effects with CGI [Computer-Generated Imagery], creating a gritty realism that immerses us viewers in the unfolding chaos. The action sequences are progressively intense and well-acted. Character development, while conventional to similar survival-action films, effectively showcased the perspectives of both the military contractors and the innocent villagers caught in the crossfire. In my conclusion, ‘Monsters of Man’ is a compelling blend of action and social dilemma, it addresses the pressing issues surrounding AI in warfare. Its realistic portrayal of modern technological warfare resonates deeply in today's world, but its more gruesome depictions of victim's afflictions do not synchronize with the efficacy of its robotic CGI. I recommend this film for mature audiences, it includes intense violence and sentiments of heroism that do not resonate with typical civilian society. Regards Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/01/25 Full Review Ace R the basis of this movie is when your being chased by pyschotic robots in the jungle just be as loud as you can all the way till the end Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/19/25 Full Review Devin W We need a part two! This movie is suspenseful, emotional and action packed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/01/25 Full Review Intru S The half star is for the AI robot idea. Unfortunately this movie is unwatchable, the cast can't act and over play every line, no subtlety. A frustrating production, could not stand watching more than 15 minutes. One of the worst movies I have tried to watch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/25 Full Review Raymond R There is less then a handful of shows/movies I've had to force myself to finish watching. This one is added to that list. We all know our government has done - and continues to do - shady and questionable things, but this movie was so far from realistic or truth is made it unbearable. Don't get me wrong, I understand movies like this are for entertainment and not meant to be realistic, but come on. You discover Americans are in the village you're committing war crimes on and your first instinct is "No witnesses"? Not only that, but the initial response to finding out one of the Americans has military training is "He's deserter!" to justify your actions. The only redeeming quality that made this movie slightly more bearable was one of the AI having a conscious. Even the atmosphere of the movie sucked. Based on the description you think they were in a populated country in a big city. Nah, they're in bumbutt nowhere. Lets also mention unrealistic part of how much money is wasted if the robots on the unsanctioned mission get destroyed or captured. Seriously, we're talking BILLIONS of dollars + futuristic technology. You really expect us to believe these AI were used on an operation without any of the higher ups knowing?
