Astronaut Sam Bell's (Sam Rockwell) three-year shift at a lunar mine is finally coming to an end, and he's looking forward to his reunion with his wife (Dominique McElligott) and young daughter. Suddenly, Sam's health takes a drastic turn for the worse. He suffers painful headaches and hallucinations, and almost has a fatal accident. He meets what appears to be a younger version of himself, possibly a clone. With time running out, Sam must solve the mystery before the company crew arrives.

Made with only a fraction of your average Star Wars or Marvel movie, but does so much with (relatively little). Sam Rockwell is just fantastic given that he’s largely in the film on his own. A tremendous sci-fi movie.

Moon is an old-fashioned sci-fi movie in the best sense: far more psychological drama than space opera, dispensing with overweening CGI and loud flashy action sequences while harking back to subtler, more ideas-driven entries in the genre.

This movie left in awe when I first watched it. It is a very lonely and captivating story held together extremely well by Sam Rockwell. This is one of those films that I don't want to talk to much about as to not spoil the incredible journey that is on display here. All I can tell you is that this is a must watch.

Interesting concept if not a little predictable in how it played out. Sam Rockwell did a great job essentially acting by himself. The AI was an interesting unknown in the movie and its actions still have me thinking about it after the movie has ended. Interesting take on "ignorance is bliss" and how quick your motivation can change when realizing what your doing a meaningless in the grand scheme of the greater machine. Only downside was the predictability, but perhaps that's just due to the limits of this scifi trope.
