Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment Moon Man is more of a broad comedy than an earnest disaster flick, but it is no less effective because of the commitment to the premise and the genuine joy that comes from seeing this silly story brought to its fullest potential. Rated: 7/10 Sep 17, 2022 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Although the comedy in Moon Man sometimes gets a little too silly and repetitive for its own good, this sci-fi flick has enough memorable characters, intriguing plot developments, and heartfelt dramatic moments to be entertaining and emotionally stirring. Sep 9, 2022 Full Review John Lui The Straits Times (Singapore) Moon Man is propelled upwards by good jokes, but dragged down to earth by a bungled feel-good message. Karen S. K This film is more subtle than it may seem. On the surface, it's slapstick utopianism with minimal character development but looking further one can see pristine revelations and interrogations of ideological machinery along with a long, looping plot structure (4-part instead of 3-act) that is itself worth further thought. All that, plus a climactic use of "Take Me Home, Country Roads," leaves an American viewer with much to consider. A must-watch for China followers, highly recommended for sci fi comedy fans: others should be ready for something not quite what they expect. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/13/23 Full Review James C Funny plot and dialogue, excellent special effects especially the kangaroo fur, excellent acting skills. The story turns a bit too much, and several times I felt like I was reaching a climax, but it didn't. If you look at him from the perspective of entertainment, he is very good, but from the perspective of film critics, there are too many twists and turns, and the rhythm is a bit chaotic. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Tina K I like the ridiculous and wacky concept. The good VFX were entertaining. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review simon w Went into this with no expectations, was pleasantly surprised! Even my son (9) loved the humour and action. You end up rooting for Yue more than you did for Willis's character in Armageddon. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
