With Robin Williams' affecting portrayal as a Russian immigrant at the center of its fish-out-of-water story, Moscow on The Hudson soars with an abundance of laughs and heart.

[This] is the kind of movie that Paul Mazursky does especially well. It's a comedy that finds most of its laughs in the close observations of human behavior, and that finds its story in a contemporary subject Mazursky has some thoughts about. Go to Full Review

[Maria Conchita Alonso] is simply enchanting. The movie, which has its dull patches due to the lack of any sort of dramatic conflict, automatically bursts into life the minute this delightfully vivacious, dark-haired beauty appears on camera. Go to Full Review

Matheus F Aug 17 Robin Williams impeccable, funny and heartwarming as always. See more S R @ScottR 08/19/2024 Some important themes about coming to America for freedom and how too much freedom is also an issue. The line, “my only freedom was my own misery, but at least I could control it and own it.” So much more could have been done with it, but it was sidelined with silly 80s humor and culture. I did appreciate those parts though too. Williams was good. RUS See more Horror fan 4 06/06/2024 What a surprise hit for Robin Williams. Loved the humor and romance. Glad I got to watch it. See more Michael W @mawilps 05/12/2024 This showbiz drama was great. Robin Williams, Maria Conchita Alonso, Cleavant Derricks, Elya Baskin, Alejandro Rey, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. The story of the movie was entertaining and dramatic. It's about having freedom that you've always wanted and making it through the tough times living in a new country. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's worth watching. Don't listen to the bad reviews this movie has gotten, those people have terrible tastes in movies. See more 04/30/2024 Timely and moving with a wonderful cast. I enjoyed the trip back to the 80s and young Robin Williams at his best. See more Read all reviews
