      Birthday: Feb 8, 1930

      Birthplace: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Alejandro Rey was born in Buenos Aires in 1930, and began acting 23 years later in films in his native country. After becoming a famous actor in Argentina, he decided to immigrate to the United States in 1960. Rey began in Hollywood by working on numerous television shows, including "Perry Mason," "The Lloyd Bridges Show," and "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis." He acted in what would become one of his most memorable roles in 1963, with Elvis Presley in "Fun in Acapulco." Following that film, his focus was largely on television, with appearances on shows like "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," and "The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.." Rey scored another high profile role in 1967, when he began playing Carlos Ramirez on the Sally Field show, "The Flying Nun." He continued to act primarily in television throughout the 1970s, with parts on "Gunsmoke," "Kung Fu," and "The Bionic Woman," though he also appeared as the lead in the 1973 film "The Stepmother." Rey appeared in the long-running soap opera, "Days of Our Lives" in 1976 and continued to act throughout the early 1980s. The actor returned to the soaps with the prime-time drama "Dallas" in 1986, as Captain Luis Rueda.
