A lush, lyrical look at the "gothic" South, Juri Beythein's cinematography is breathtaking, dazzling with texture and depth as he captures the blue skies, silken waters and green grasses of the region, all laced with the shadows and weight of life.

A mind-blowing coming-of-age thriller of one young man's reconciliation of life's hardships and joys...so far. Visually rich, the backdrop is a small town with lots of secrets, and mysteries to solve. Daniel Peddle crafts each characters' story with dark Southern-gothic flair. The movie seems like it could have been filmed fifty years ago, but at the same time, rings true to our current times. Absolutely fascinating. A must see!

I really enjoyed this subtle quiet story. The arc of the characters expressions and emotional resolution is beautiful and satisfying. I loved how visually it lingers on nature and colors with unexpected angles and cinematography adding to the emotional impact. It is truly a satisfying work of art.

Director Daniel Peddle continues his thoughtful and insightful look into the lives of young people growing up in the South with this beautifully shot and edited film. Moss and Peddle's earlier Sunset Edge are zeitgeist films of an alienated youth in South. Yet, there is hope and redemption though care, compassion and patience. Rewarding.
