David, a young middle-class Jewish man--corpulent, homosexual and afraid of flying--returns to Buenos Aires from Europe for the funeral of his uncle. On his return, David learns that his mother has decided to disconnect his father's respirator, the only thing that has kept him alive for years. David will oscillate between living in close quarters with his mother, alienated by the pain of the imminent loss of her husband, and a voracity to fill his existential anguish, occupying his hours learning to drive, seeking low-cost medical treatments, and trying to have sex with any man who shows him a little attention.

Carlos Aguilar RogerEbert.com Said’s finely calibrated writing produces situations that organically and succinctly flesh out the interpersonal dynamics in his family. Rated: 3/4 May 2, 2025 Full Review Desirée De Fez Fotogramas The humor in 'Most People Die on Sundays,' between a blend of minimalism and well-crafted realism and at times quite dark, is brilliant. Jun 6, 2025 Full Review Gregg Shapiro Bay Area Reporter In 72 minutes, [Said] makes us run the gamut of emotions, sometimes in the same scene. Rated: B- May 28, 2025 Full Review Rubén Rosario MiamiArtZine It's as a portrait of mother and son that the film truly thrives, thanks in large part to Cortese's brilliantly lived-in performance. May 21, 2025 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Undercooked, dull and anemic. Pedro Almodovar could probably take the premise and turn it into a much more lively, bold, witty, funny and poignant experience. May 2, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews
