"Mother" is a very hard film through its cruel realism, which could have been a great one with a few minor changes in the writing and the finale. Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 1 day ago Mother is a foreign film from 2020 that unfortunately didn’t work for me. I started watching it hoping the story would eventually pull me in, but I never really became invested. The story felt rather flat, and I didn’t feel like it was building toward anything strong or meaningful. I kept waiting for some type of buildup or a stronger story arc beyond simply focusing on the idea of being a mother. There was so much potential for the story to develop into something more compelling, but I felt like those opportunities were never fully explored. I’ve watched several foreign films this year that have genuinely impressed me and delivered incredible storytelling, but unfortunately, Mother was not one of them. It never connected with me the way I think it was intended to, and I ultimately felt like it missed the mark. Overall, Mother is a misfire for me. I wanted much more from the story, but it never delivered enough to keep me invested. Was aggravating at times at times, which was the point, but also a little slow going. I must admit, however, to do so would remove the sublime tragedy underlying the story. If you're looking for an uplifting feel-good story look somewhere else. But if you appreciate realistic drama I recommend this one. See more Dec 13, 2021 Absolutely Fascinating See more luca j @RT97986902 Mar 14, 2021 Okay, not terrible, not great either. Characters and storyline are pretty one dimensional - I guess that's the point. See more Feb 15, 2021 La trama es muy depresiva, los actores son decentes y los escenarios están bien.
