Chris Chang Film Comment Magazine Romantic and engaging-with lush musical detail throughout-this most enjoyable film is, in the end, a thoroughly demoralizing tale of female oppression. Jun 17, 2013 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian The exchanges between Louise and Nannerl are sometimes laborious, even stilted. Making the casting of these two characters a family affair was probably not the best idea. Rated: 2/5 Apr 12, 2012 Full Review Antonia Quirke Financial Times You feel the Mozart of Peter Schaffer's Amadeus could easily have emerged from this squabbling, loving, pressurised unit. Rated: 3/5 Apr 12, 2012 Full Review Jack Fleischer Battleship Pretension They play fast and lose with the truth, when the truth could have been much more interesting. Mar 24, 2021 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk Féret plucks hints and whispers from the historical record, adjusts other details and invents the rest to weave his fictional story. Dec 6, 2020 Full Review Daniel Green CineVue Despite its initial potential, Mozart's Sister fails to rouse, partly due to its unfortunately meagre budget and also the humdrum screenplay Rated: 2/5 Jan 5, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member good costume drama although it seems they took license with the timeline Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member With sumptuous locations and costumes, the restrained performances present a powerful tale of gender inequality and quiet injustice. "Nannerl, la soeur de Mozart" is well worth watching. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Visually pleasing and ah all that music. I thought some actors' acting was so so. Story wise: not 100% correct historically, but they had to create drama and modify the events a bit for the story's sake. No one died and yet the ending was sad in that sort of "shrug, that's life" way. As they presented the same point as many historical films might show: it was tough for women, women had to stick to their own roles. Even if they had talents for the arts, it was not their field, face mockery or stay in the kitchen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member "What if" she was given the chance? She may have been the greatest composer we ever knew. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member beautifully done. truly enjoyed the story line and music!! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Elegant, delicate and melancholic film about Nannerl, Mozart's sister. Sometimes the silence of women makes noise.
