When London's wet weather becomes too much to bear, pratfall-prone Mr. Bean heads to the French Riviera for some fun in the sun. As usual, his plans do not go smoothly, and he is mistaken for both a kidnapper and an award-winning filmmaker when he arrives with a Romanian director's son and an aspiring actress in tow.

Critics Consensus

Mr. Bean's Holiday means well, but good intentions can't withstand the 90 minutes of monotonous slapstick and tired, obvious gags.

The English release this week is as asinine as its Bollywood cousin. Go to Full Review

I hate Mr. Bean, I hated this movie. He's an annoying, creepy, leering, sweaty, unfunny character, and ten seconds would be too much and this movie's like 90 minutes. Go to Full Review

Mr. Bean's Holiday is a very cute movie. Unfortunately, cute is rarely funny. Go to Full Review

It has become readily apparent that it is, indeed, the time to say goodbye to this once delightfully different character. Go to Full Review

Michael A @Tomato547 5d I mean it's good, but at some times it got a tiny bit boring, some of the jokes weren't funny to me, but loads of the jokes were funny, but like I said some of them aren't funny to me. But, it's an alright movie with the charm of Mr Bean. So overall it's alright. See more Jay G. @JayReVUes0205 Dec 24 Everyone loves a holiday weekend—unless you’re the antithesis of peace and the embodiment of pure menace. How do you get to your destination while destroying everything in your path and "convincing" everyone to take you where you want to go? It’s the most chaotic "foreign" film ever made. As a kid, it was my favorite; now, it’s a nostalgic shot of comfort food for the soul. Rowan Atkinson is brilliant in what is surely his career-defining role. The laughs still hold up, but as I get older, I find myself relating more and more to the people left in the wake of Mr. Bean! Somehow Bean is endearing and a little bit annoying at the same time, no else could balance it the way Rowan does. See more @Rishab Dec 24 It's a light hearted family movie Filled Laughter, Joy and Memories 🎉🎉🎉 Mr bean is funniest character See more Julie H Dec 12 The low rating for this film baffles me. It has gorgeous scenery, a great soundtrack, a ton of laughs and a genuinely joyous take on life. Ignore the ney sayers and give it a go. You’ll be glad you did. See more Edward L @Lassoto Nov 24 The art of foolery and mimicry is hard to define. But it has been around for hundreds of years. Jesters, clowns, physical comedy and mimes are examples of it. Much of the time it is not really well done or taken to an art form. Rowan Atkinson has taken on this art form and elevated it to new levels. He has dedicated his life to creatively acting the fool, and thereby satirizing human nature. Mr. Bean's Holiday is a progression. It follows a fool winning a holiday. Along his long and arduous journey, the movie shows the world through the fools eyes. One sees how so much of the world is actually foolish as well. But then things better. He starts to see the beauty in the world. The movie examines human topics such as struggle, beauty, ego, art. This is one of my all time favorite movies. Yes, I watched it with my small children which delighted them as well. It is truly a masterpiece and probably the greatest performance in the mime genre ever created. Rowan Atkinson is brilliant and a treasure for a reason. His art form is difficult. The mime persona (character) is hard to emulate. Yes Mr. Bean is very silly and always has been. But this has really broken new ground. See more Youness T Oct 6 Funny, cute, good cinematography. Family movie. See more Read all reviews
