Stephen Romei The Australian It’s a sweet exploration of how new life can blossom in unanticipated ways – even Mephisto plays a part in this – and how new friends can be found in unexpected places. Aug 7, 2024 Full Review Alejandro Lingenti La Nación (Argentina) Mr. Blake at Your Service recounts with a pair of legends - John Malkovich, Fanny Ardant - but the story it tells is conventional, especially in its forms, and very predictable. Scholz Clarín The classic situational comedy has its rules, and Mr. Blake, at Your Service!, with John Malkovich in the lead role, follows them to a tee. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/4 Feb 2, 2025 Full Review Amparo Cabal EscribiendoCine ...elegant, gentle and full of comic twists around every corner, Mr. Blake at Your Command works admirably as a feel-good movie and could even make it onto the select list of movies to watch on Christmas. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 7/10 Jan 16, 2025 Full Review Erick Estrada Cinegarage A movie that only seeks to makes us feel good. [Full review in Spanish] Sep 25, 2024 Full Review Jane Freebury The Canberra Times (Australia) Although there is some humour in this rather ordinary fare, the perfomances from the pros in the cast give it a lift and occasional moments of endearing charm Rated: 3/5 Aug 9, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

bob c Interesting about a man dealing with grief by helping others, but in an irritating form of French. With French version of Hollywood ending. JM does JM in French. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/25 Full Review Saxone A I have a feeling that the audience reviews, all in English, are shared between those who don't speak French and those who do. The non French speakers are a little kinder to this than the French speakers. If you speak French, avoid this film like the plague. The awful accents, the English speaking to each other in French even in London, all make for a cringe fest. But even without the language icks, the story makes little sense, the characters do not seem real, they do stupid things and the ending is entirely unconvincing. Over 2 hours wasted hoping for it to get better (it didn't). Don't bother. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review Samim A It's an unbearable film. Under the pretext of denouncing Anglo-French clichés, it falls into even worse ones. Thin plot, thin characters, and above all, Malkovich speaking French (even in England—why?) is ridiculous. The poor noblewoman living in a château but struggling to make ends meet, and the poor "Entrepreneur of the Year" who becomes a butler... How could two great actors like Malkovich and Ardant fall into such a trap? Avoid at all costs. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/05/25 Full Review clodagh w Heart-warming story, beautiful shots of a chateau, great French actors, but why oh why did Malkovich speak French the whole time?!?!?! It was so bad that I almost left on various occasions because it felt like I was in my high-school French class where a student was attempting to read out loud and torturing the French language! I wanted to throw something at the screen to shut him up. He even spoke out loud to HIMSELF in French AND to the cat?! I really wish they had hired a French actor who knew the 2 lines that were spoken in English. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/28/24 Full Review Lo W My husband and I really enjoyed it. John Malkovich is a delight to watch, whatever he is in. And we really liked the cat.
