James Agee TIME Magazine Mr. Bug gives an entertaining insect's-eye-view of Manhattan and its "human ones." Its color and atmosphere are first-rate; it is in good taste, and not overdone. robert p The animation and it's good for 1948 though I wouldn't recommend this for today's type of audience because there are some jokes that were OK and 1848 but today is definitely seat is racist. I don't know the songs in the atmosphere and everything just really didn't work for me I thought it was very just average all the way around so some people might like this but I'm not one of them. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It was so batshit at the end, but still a nice movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member the movie is a very good movie from my childhood, what else to say Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I love the human movement animation and watercolor background.. The fly stills the show and heart of the viewers.. Very good pioneer film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member I give it two thumbs up Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review david l Mr. Bug Goes to Town benefits from gorgeous animation that is frequently stunning in imagery and composition. The overall storyline is solid as are some of the characters. But the pacing is all over the place, the soundtrack is inferior and the movie never gained enough momentum in terms of emotion and/or engagement. It signaled the end of animated feature production for Fleischer Studios, beginning Disney's total monopoly in that field.
