Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times Just as pure fan service, it’s a welcome return. If you liked “Monk” you’ll obviously want to watch it — and if you’ve never seen “Monk,” you should watch “Monk.” Jan 3, 2024 Full Review Aaron Pruner TheWrap Two decades later, we can all relate a bit to Adrian Monk. He may even be the perfect sleuth for the post-pandemic jungle we’re living in. Is this case truly his last? One can only hope the answer is, “No.” Dec 12, 2023 Full Review Brian Lowry CNN.com While the title states (or at least implies) this is Monk’s goodbye, given how seamlessly Shalhoub and company slide back into it, Peacock might be well advised to keep a few extra gallons of hand sanitizer in reserve. Dec 8, 2023 Full Review Nelson Acosta Koimoi In what amounts to a TV Special, Monk’s Last Case gives the audience a good dosage of nostalgia by bringing the entire gang back one more time. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media Ultimately, the sequel manages to deliver a strong message of hope, and those who enjoy the original series will find it entertaining (if not as upbeat). Jan 10, 2024 Full Review Derek Sante KSNV (Las Vegas) A fun TV film, but the darker tone definitely rubs some people the wrong way. Rated: B- Jan 4, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Rob M As a fan of the show, I enjoyed this conclusion to the Monk story. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/21/24 Full Review John J The actors, writers and producers capture the pathos and humor, resulting in the audience having more empathy and understanding for people in our lives. Just the first scene captures this, the humor of Monk fiddling with his chair and the angles shot by the director, and the dialogue with the publisher (played by Tony's real life wife, Brooke) and her assistant, then, a minute later, Monk is contemplating jumping out a window, stopped by the real or imagined Trudy, and the depth of loss that Monk shows when she disappears. The humor of "The Randy Disher Project", or Natalie and Randy's "gist of the gist", and Stottlemyer's practical joke on Randy, to the true friendship of each of them being there for Monk and Molly in their time of tragedy, and injustice. As in the TV series, bringing in great guest characters, even with a small but significant part. Molly truly supporting Monk with all of his issues, with patience and care, and hopefully in the next movie, a deeper role, perhaps like her mom, maybe as an investigative journalist reporting on injustices, with the help of Monk, even Griffin ( his dialogue scene with James Purefoy, the young and the veteran, or the final scene where he thanks Monk for bringing justice) who may continue in a guiding role to Molly as Trudy does for Monk, and even short scenes with guest actors like Richard Kind as the undertaker, a unique humor, and example of the great guest actors over the years. Maybe the next few movies will require a cast of characters to deal with something Monk and Molly investigate, with the help, of course, of Natalie, Randy and Leland, and John Turturro as Adrian's brother, Stanley Tucci, who played the actor playing the role of Monk, Gena Rowland, Monk's "neighbor", Sarah Silverman, Monk's "Fan", Enrico Colantoni, Monk's former partner, and so many others Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/05/24 Full Review John C Tony Shalhoub is a joy to watch as monk. They should reboot the series but with him in it... It's not monk without Tony. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review Austin C The only possible conclusion as to why some enjoy this movie is nostalgia. Lame “mystery”, boring villain. Smooth brain material. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/09/24 Full Review victor m Absolutely brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/09/24 Full Review Lee R Loved this. Yes it has a darker theme but still a lot of the humour and joy of the original. It's been many years and yet the cast just clicked back in and it worked. I'm sure if they did more (the odd movie) it would clukx back in even more. I think a lot of the critic reviews have just not gotten it. For fans of the series and characters it was great. ..... please make more. It's such a wonderful cast and series/film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Read all reviews
