Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express This is just the kind of film, with a clutch of effective performances and important messaging, which should be made mandatory viewing for couples. Rated: 3/5 Feb 7, 2025 Full Review Sukanya Verma Rediff.com Mrs succeeds in riling you up for all the right reasons. And without resorting to high-pitched drama. Rated: 4/5 Feb 15, 2025 Full Review Devesh Sharma Filmfare [Sanya Malhotra] elevates the film, and proves once again why she is one of the most versatile and compelling actors of her generation. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 10, 2025 Full Review Sreeparna Sengupta The Times of India ..."Mrs" is a must watch. Especially for its affecting, potent and provocative storytelling which drives home the subtle, everyday patriarchal and societal norms that turn a blind eye to a woman's desires, wants and needs. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 7, 2025 Full Review Rishabh Suri Hindustan Times [Arati] aims for subtlety and it is hard to miss, because not one scene here feels out of place. Everything is measured and exists for the right amount of time on screen. Feb 7, 2025 Full Review Ganesh Aaglave Firstpost There was no newness, and despite having a runtime of less than 2 hours, Mrs looked dragged and long. It looked like director Arati Kadav consumed too much time creating the sympathy scenario for the lead protagonist among the viewers. Rated: 2/5 Feb 7, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Waniya S Would have liked a bit of revenge and also disappointing end because he remarried and nothing changes in his household like why he should be SUFFERING like our girl did! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/25 Full Review Afrin R if this had even a little bit of revenge i would have been happier . Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Mirza M 'Mrs.' is a universally relevant film anchored by its powerful performances and poignant storytelling. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review Saurabh K “Mrs.” (2025), directed by Arati Kadav, is a Hindi-language drama that serves as a remake of the acclaimed Malayalam film “The Great Indian Kitchen.” The narrative centers on Richa, portrayed by Sanya Malhotra, a trained dancer who, after marriage, confronts the entrenched patriarchal norms of her new household. Malhotra’s portrayal of Richa is both compelling and authentic, capturing the character’s evolution from a hopeful bride to a woman asserting her individuality. Her performance was recognized with the Best Actress award at the 2024 New York Indian Film Festival. Director Arati Kadav deserves commendation for her sensitive and nuanced storytelling. She adeptly translates the essence of the original film while infusing it with a distinct voice that resonates with a broader audience. Her direction ensures that the film remains engaging, even for those familiar with the original. The film has garnered critical acclaim and multiple awards, including a nomination for Best Director for Arati Kadav at the 2024 New York Indian Film Festival , selections in Tallin , New York , Melbourne film festivals. However, some critiques point to the film’s close adherence to the original, suggesting that it offers limited new perspectives. Additionally, certain cultural nuances specific to the South Indian setting of the original may not fully translate, potentially affecting the film’s relatability for a pan-Indian audience. In summary, “Mrs.” is a thought-provoking exploration of gender roles and societal expectations, elevated by strong performances and insightful direction. While it may not entirely escape comparisons to its predecessor, it stands as a significant film in its own right, prompting essential conversations about women’s roles within the household Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review Audience Member Arati Kadav's adaptation of The Great Indian Kitchen is very gripping like the original. Arati makes a couple of interesting changes like the profession of the male protagonist. Nishant Dahiya plays a male gynecologist here adding an interesting dimension as he understands women body parts but has zero empathy for his wife's feelings.
