Lulu F A rather lovely old movie about a lady in the twilight of her life, experiencing some independence, fun, and the companionship of a group of new people, she meets, whilst staying at the Claremont Hotel. In many ways they love and care about her more than her own family, who have become distant and disinterested in her. Especially a young man, who becomes her unofficially adopted grandson. She inspires him, and he uplifts her. And both their lives are transformed, for the period of their friendship, which is a very special time indeed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review sanjay s Very enjoyable. At its heart are two great characters , played by Joan Plowright and Rupert Friend, supported by some very good actors. To be recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review Cynthia H A sweet and tender, lovely story of caring, especially when you just want to relax with a warm cup of something good. I loved it so much I've shared it with three friends who enjoyed it as much as I do. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/04/23 Full Review Michael F This is a beautiful and touching film with an unforgettable performance by Dame Joan Plowright. All the supporting players are wonderful and Rupert Friend (in his first role) is very impressive. I can't say enough good things about this movie.
