acsdoug D It had some rather humorous moments, as well as some telling comments about communism, but the last part of the movie turns into an unrealistic farce. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review root An underrated comedy gem. I'd love to see this get a wider release on streaming services. Catherine Tate is simply incredible here as both a comedic and dramatic actress. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny satire of life in communist areas from a hilarious viewpoint. Rightfully so, it also has its rather serious moments. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Littered with absurd historic inaccuracies this is a banal and only occasionally funny movie that rambled along without much of a story or purpose. Watchable and forgettable... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Dire with dreadful accents. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member The most important characteristic of "Mrs. Ratcliffe's Revolution" is its soul. Yes, yes, we all have seen similar films before but this is still a special one - hilarious, moving, realistic, a cry for freedom. Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Despite its predictable graph, the film stays watchable, essentially because of Mrs Ratcliffe's doughty act: [Catherine] Tate sets her jaw and grabs the bit and goes at it. Apr 26, 2019 Full Review Stella Papamichael BBC.com Pleasingly anarchic. Rated: 3/5 Oct 27, 2007 Full Review Andrew Pulver Guardian Very gauche stuff. Rated: 2/5 Oct 27, 2007 Full Review Matthew Turner ViewLondon Enjoyable comedy drama with a sharp script and superb performances, though it loses its focus towards the end. Rated: 3/5 Oct 27, 2007 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall Lively and colourful, and also a little contrived. But it features a strikingly engaging performance from Tate.
