Rita Kempley Washington Post For a Cinderella story, it's sorely without magic. Aug 3, 2009 Full Review Brian Lowry Variety The brazen sentimentality at work here -- while effective in the context of what some might call "a chick flick"-- doesn't give the material much weight. Jun 20, 2008 Full Review Time Out Lake is a rather chilly and distinctly unpersuasive presence. Catherine R This film just goes to show that all families have their secrets and problems. But the fact that they accept eachother anyway shows real maturity and it makes you love and appreciate the writers. And respect for the actor who played Steve. He made me so so nervous when he held that baby. And I love how everyone tries to confess to his murder. Ya gotta love loyalty. Especially from a wealthy family. And Shirley MacLaine portrayed the mother so well. She didn't judge, she just daw another mother who needed help and even when she learned the truth, she still loved Connie. That's amazing to me. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/22/24 Full Review Eva Helena V This movie was great. It had a strange premise of a man falling for his dead brother's fiancée. Rickie Lake plays the love interest. Brendan Fraser plays twin brothers. Shirley McClain plays the mother in law. This is definitely a chick flick. But the tango scene alone makes this movie worth the watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/01/24 Full Review Steve D Doesn't hold a candle to the original. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review Ingrid P Love any movie with Brendan Fraser 💞 Also it's a cute movie, easy watch for a rainy day. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/14/23 Full Review Anthony S A fascinating study of out-of-touch filmmakers plugging their best approximation of class consciousness into the 90's Rom Com genre, for hilarious and delightfully cringy results. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/09/23 Full Review Da Homiee This film had potential to do well. Box office failure. Script needs more work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/01/22 Full Review Read all reviews
