Audience Member I read many reviews but I can't say I agree. Perhaps none of the reviewers were Moroccan or have never lived in 3rd world conditions. This has been my favourite movie. It brings many issues to light not just prostitution. Homosexuality, Transmen which btw I didn't know about in Morocco. It's honest, real or vulgar if u want to call it that. To me it is a great movie. I've watched it over a dozen times. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie will surprise you in pace and content. The feeling and reality of the style successfully give you a window into the life of the characters. There's not exaggeration as ther doesn't need to be. If you're looking for a sexually stimulatin movie this is definitely not it . But if you're looking for a movie that will open your heart, this does it. The movie ended before I wanted it to. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review a.l.jude p Sad, this unforgiving culture reveal goes underrated as usual. It deserves critical acclaim for its all over brilliance ! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member One the sharpest movies i've ever seen. It is so strong. So realistic and very expressive. A must see! Also, it's available on NETFLIX. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Banned in Morocco where it is set and was filmed, Much Loved is a damning examination of the patriarchal and sexist attitudes of much of the Arabic world. It follows the lives of four Marrakesh prostitutes and shows in very graphic detail how they are treated by clients, especially wealthy Saudi sex tourists who exploit the women at house parties and nightclubs. It pulls no punches and in a number of scenes, makes for very uncomfortable viewing. The actors, who I freely admit not having heard of any of them, are brilliant, especially Loubna Abidar who plays Noha, who is the older, mother figure of the group. She is brilliant and portrays a very difficult role with enormous skill. Directed by Nabil Ayouch with a simple but effective style, this movie is definitely worth viewing but will not be for everyone.
