Stephen Romei The Australian This gritty, claustrophobic film will not be to everyone's taste -- and if I say that phrase also has a double meaning, you have a hint of just how gross Ray's week gets before it's over. Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 11, 2014 Full Review Justin Chang Variety An excremental but hardly execrable Australian comedy-drama that plays like the klutzy, sheets-soiling stepbrother of "Maria Full of Grace." Nov 24, 2014 Full Review David Stratton At the Movies (Australia) Some of it is extremely disgusting and they seemed to revel in that aspect of it. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 21, 2014 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Generally interesting and with a decent production value, The Mule is worth a look. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 12, 2019 Full Review Naila Scargill Trebuchet Excellent writing and direction successfully meld thriller elements to make for a surprisingly rich black comedy. Feb 28, 2019 Full Review Paul M. Bradshaw Total Film Its a cheek-clenchingly tense waiting game that Sampson plays perfectly ... Rated: 3/5 Jan 2, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Noelle S Lovely film. A little gross at times, but that doesn't take away from the plot. Also, Leigh Whannell was in it, so it's an automatic 5/5 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/24 Full Review prawnda s it is better than you might assume from the summary, but John Noble kind of ruins every scene he's in. having him be the big bad guy just doesn't click, it's neither funny or ominous, and he has very fake teeth. he was not really any good as denethor in the first place, and generally is unsettling in the wrong types of ways (creepy old man vs drug lord). the rest of the cast, including another notable LotR alumni: Hugo Weaving, do a perfectly serviceable job for what the script gives them, which is not much. the film seems like it will get funny to start, but around the 30 minute mark i was already sensing it run out of ideas. more establishing scenes in the first act that didn't begin instantly with the smuggling operation would probably have done quite a lot for this. the movie isn't really funny. it's also not a terrible watch, but it feels like it's got one foot in comedy and one in thriller, which leaves it with a generally inconsistent tone. i can't help feeling that this would have been much better if it leaned further in one direction. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/23 Full Review Bad R Honestly i thought the movie sucked, the cartel was trying to hard to act too aggressive it seemed like their organization was ran by low iq individual that couldnt run a gas station let alone a cartel it was a constant pointless pissing contest between cartel members and earl was constantly under intimidation like hes being forced to do the runs like hes not here voluntarily. Also the power change in the cartel was weak and unnecessary how many cartel leaders get taken out by their second in command out of fear of going to jail in mexico in their home turf which really doesnt make sense especially because we seen the dea saying they werent getting any real busts so you got scared because a couple dime bag dealers got raided but No thought that theres a snitch somewhere in the cartel. Typically if your safehouses are getting hit one right after another someone is talking that isn't a coincidence then we fall back on the competency of the cartel members. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/21/23 Full Review Laurie S Excellent movie, exciting and engrossing. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrendously bad movie. Really have to question the good scores given. Where you guys having a laugh? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Late R It does an exceptionally good job for a film that is, essentially, about a man who refuses to defecate for almost 2 weeks, but there is only so much you can do with that premise. With an interesting 30 mins or so at the beginning as well as the end of the film, it does run out of interesting things to do or say during the middle act which leads to it feeling like the content was only there in order to extend the running time to an acceptable length for the studio. However, overall, it has to be said that it has a lot more fibre and is far better than you would expect from its description. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/18/17 Full Review Read all reviews
