The Muppets perform the classic Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog playing Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk of stingy Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine). Other Muppets -- Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and Sam the Eagle -- weave in and out of the story, while Scrooge receives visits from spirits of three Christmases -- past, present and future. They show him the error of his self-serving ways, but the miserable old man seems to be past any hope of redemption and happiness.

At this point all of the theater visits in 2024 I've done the biggest part has been screenings of classics. When I saw that 'The Muppet Christmas Carol' returned to theaters, I asked my mom (who's a very big fan of the movie) to go together. She really wanted to go with me. Out of all the classics I watched, I think this one was my least favorite. I really like this movie, but I'm not as big as a fan of it than I am of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' or 'Spider-Man'. After having quite a turbulent day and having 3 VERY annoying kids in the theater (who were removed from the screening midway through), maybe it weren't the best conditions to watch this movie. But of course, this movie keeps being fun. Michael Caine is a very goated actor that I'm shocked I haven't seen a film of in theaters yet. The Muppets just remain being dumb fun. I wasn't very sold on the deleted song they added back in, it lasted for too long and was too dramatic. The rest of the movie, as I know it, was very enjoyable, though the 4K upscale didn't work all the time...

This film is hella good. Best adaptation of the story and just trul, truly amazing. The songs are super catchy and fun, and it lacks most of the cheesy comedy found in other muppet entries. Best muppet movie. I watch every simgle Christmas. Its amazing. I love it.

It's my all-time favourite adaptation of Dickens' timeless classic. As an adult, I find myself enjoying it even more, catching all of the subtleties I missed as a child. It deserves to be in the 90+% area here on RT. It's heartwarming, memorable, superbly shot and written, and the songs are fantastic also.
