Orient Express is strictly an actors' showcase, and some of the performers have such assured technique that you begin to grin each time you see them. Go to Full Review

The idea is that everything will be more interesting if Sean Connery or Ingrid Bergman, rather than the characters they play, is suspected of having committed the foul deed. The device does not work, despite the [actors'] occasionally droll efforts. Go to Full Review

Agatha Christie's 1934 Hercule Poirot novel has been filmed for the first time in a bygone film style as it seems to be some treasure out of a time capsule. Go to Full Review

…Sidney Lumet’s 1974 version of Murder on the Orient Express is a classic in every sense, this is the pick of the bunch when it comes to Agatha Christie movies, and the place many amateur detectives got a first taste of the genre they came to love…. Go to Full Review

J.T. H. @JTH006 Dec 16 Great winter watch for mystery fans. All-Star cast is outstanding, led by an unrecognisable Albert Finney in one of his best performances. See more Jake G Nov 19 The strongest characteristic of this movie is the acting. Wonderful performances from all the characters See more Alex S Nov 3 superb! A true feast for the eyes and ears! The cast simply magnificent — a lineup you just don’t see anymore. It’s pure joy to follow this classic whodunit — again and again and again. Albert Finney shines as Poirot, even if his French accent isn’t entirely convincing. Still, his detailed and passionate performance more than compensates for it. Sidney Lumet’s direction is simply divine: elegant, rhythmic, atmospheric, and beautifully crafted. Best of all, the film feels wonderfully old-fashioned — as if it had actually been made in the 1930s. Murder on the Orient Express is cinema at its finest: precise, lavish, and timelessly entertaining. A jewel of a mystery — clever, witty, stylish, and delightfully nostalgic. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Aug 10 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Neil B Apr 15 A series of masterful performances from a cast of stars. Albert Finney plays Poirot without the comic aspects employed by others, and although it lacks the authenticity of Christie's strange little man, he set the standard for Poirot. This film apparently restored Christie's acceptance of film adaptations of her books, and I can see why. For those used to Suchet as Poirot his performance may grate but I found it as good, if different. See more Read all reviews
