Robert Abele Los Angeles Times It’s... squarely openhearted in depicting what the freshly transitioned must navigate just to be (and explain) themselves, when all anyone else can seem to latch on to is the narrative of change they experience. Aug 29, 2023 Full Review Ty Burr Ty Burr's Watch List (Substack) “Mutt” doesn’t really travel anywhere except in circles around its beleaguered hero’s falling and rising sense of self-worth. But that’s enough... Rated: 3/4 Aug 25, 2023 Full Review Monica Castillo RogerEbert.com A film with a lot on its mind, a frenetic energy to make it to the end of the day, and a character we root for from start to finish. Rated: 3/4 Aug 18, 2023 Full Review Anya Couture Geek Vibes Nation Mutt very much feels like one very long day from hell. Rather than physical barriers in something like Scorsese’s After Hours keeping our main character from achieving his goal, Feña is bombarded with emotional ones. Mike V Mutt is a 2023 drama film directed, written and produced by Vuk Lungulov-Klotz in his feature directorial debut 🧒 Can’t recommend it. Meh, it passed the time. Sort of. 😕 D Over the course of a single hectic day in New York City, three people from Feña's past are thrust back into his life: his foreign father, his straight ex-boyfriend, and his 13-year old half-sister. Having lost touch since transitioning from female to male, Feña must navigate the new dynamics of these old relationships while tackling the day-to-day challenges that come with living a life in-between.
