Nicole M Whilst I don’t expect allot from most low budget Christmas movies this one exceeded my lack of expectations!.. I first became suspicious when the film started and the MC did not have on a inch of the excepted Christmas colours of red or green, the film made rapid speed down hill from there on, there was no plot, it was as if someone held a gun to someone’s head and said you have 15 minutes to come up with a Christmas movie to which the person being held to ransom scribbled ideas that popped into there head and said here you go! There was no buying or decorating of a tree, no cute child, Christmas carols or the usual endorsement of a jewellery company, in-fact there wasn’t much hallmarks of a Christmas movie throughout. I don’t recall them even mentioning Christmas, just the odd prop of candy canes and trees in the background. I was confused and rolled my eyes throughout, and not my usual cheesy Christmas movie roll of my eyes but still enjoy, one of absolute disbelief, what I will say is that myself and my sister did cry with laughter unpacking what we had just witnessed, if anything tops this I would be surprised. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/12/24 Full Review Sarah G. P Terrible film! From the writing to the set design to the acting, it read low budget and lack of commitment. The writing was incredibly awkward with poor dialogue and a storyline that was shallow and lacking in direction. There were also so many characters whose role wasn't explained and storylines that went nowhere (ex., the pastry chef Lorenzo who had some sort of insider knowledge but did nothing with it). The kitchen of a supposed high-end hotel in Italy was like a minimalist stage set with the actors moving stiffly around the space, handling equipment and food like props rather than at the frenetic pace expected in a commercial kitchen. The dining room of this "award-winning" restaurant looked like something you'd see in a high school production. The acting by all but Jack Parr was either stilted or over-emoted. There was absolutely zero chemistry between the male and female "romantic" leads, so when a love declaration comes at the end, it makes zero sense. The "villains" were absolute caricatures, with the Razzie Award going to the actress playing "the snake." All in all, a waste of 1 1/2 hours.
