Geoff Pevere Toronto Star More a collection of dubiously myth-serving, purple-hazed '60s' sketches than anything else. Audience Member Poorly written, acted, and executed. One thing it did show is that pop music is just that, popular muaic of the time that is quickly made, consumed, and forgotten. By the time the next generation comes around, 99% of those awsome and amazing bands of your youth mean nothing to anyone but you. The last scene with Hendrix sums it up, money is made, cars and mansions bought but great revelations never come and you're still the same. Nothing changes. Consider that the majority who have a brush with fame and fortune are eventually thrown back on the scrap heap of life. So the only important message this film presents is whether it's better to never become famous or have that fame and lose it. Good luck with that Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member The low budget is evident from the opening card, but many of the moment work better than they have any right to. It's uneven, but averages out to pretty good fanservice. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Nothing happens for the first hour. Don't watch this. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Featuring a veritable who's who—excepting the Who themselves, though—of Swinging Sixties London and Los Angeles during the Summer of Love, Kalyan's decidedly low-budget trippy trip down both Penny and memory lane feels like a rambling, hazy anecdote told by either Ben or Jerry that eventually gets stuck circling the cultural cul-de-sac of boomer nostalgia. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member felt cheap production values but good story and based on actual events. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Everything Kaylan and Volman have achieved in their long and winding career (Turtles, T.Rex, Flo & Eddie) was delivered with spirit and style. The same can be said of this movie: a heartfelt and entertaining reconstruction of the late 60s' music scene from L.A. to London. Great fun!
