Nell Minow Common Sense Media Great boy-and-dog tale, but be prepared for tears. Rated: 4/5 Dec 26, 2010 Full Review Globe and Mail Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 22, 2002 Full Review Susan Stark Detroit News From the very first words you hear in My Dog Skip, you know you have hit a rare, precious breed of movie, one that honors and rejoices in the language. Rated: 4/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review John J. Puccio Movie Metropolis ...a gem of a movie for children and adults, despite its clichs. Rated: 7/10 Dec 31, 2010 Full Review Nick Rogers Midwest Film Journal Not a mawkish dying-dog tearjerker, "My Dog Skip" carries a touch of Mark Twain, with quasi-dangerous tall tales and awareness of a gap between childhood and boyhood. Plus, as it's said of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," there's cussin' in it. Antony U Pretty good overall. Frankie Muniz was very good. Diane Lane great as always. Wilson and Bacon were pretty good in it. Decent plot. Good, clean dog movie that will leave moist eyes when over. Worth a look. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/20/24 Full Review Louis M It's a tearjerker and it does what it says on the tin Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review Tongue L Very touching & meaningful movie. One of the very few movies I was able to get my son to watch with me when he was younger. It was as a heartfelt story that makes you appreciate how powerful love is. I recently watched it again & it reminded me of the time I watched it with my son. If you do not feel joy & intense sadness watching this movie, then you are not human. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review JOE J The best animal/pet movie ever. It will uplift you, it'll make you feel wonderful, it will shred your heart to pieces. William Ross's music score is magnificent, and this is the best work Frankie Muniz has ever done. An instant classic. No disrespect to Lassie or Benji or Marley. Or Beethoven for that matter. 😁😁 This movie deserved serious award season consideration. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/24 Full Review steve d Mostly cute sometimes sad, well made family film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member cute movie about a boy and his dog. This movie plays more as a drama and is based on a true story. The plot is simple and doesn't leave much to remember but you somehow know it was a good movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
