Italy, 1997. Clara and Irene, both 17, meet at a summer camp organized by the hospital who treats them. Clara is shy while Irene is untamed -- they instantly become inseparable friends. Instead of going back to their families, they decide to run away to a faraway island off the coast of Sicily to live their first summer as young women.
