Russell Scott Smith New York Post This is ultimately a sunny movie full of likable characters. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 25, 2005 Full Review Ned Martel New York Times This spare, enjoyable documentary suggests that today's pornography performers enjoy better life options than those revisited in Inside Deep Throat. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 24, 2005 Full Review Peter L'Official Village Voice There are many dreadful elements in this chronicle of aging gay male porn star Colton Ford's quest for crossover success in the music industry: sub-amateurish camera work, a maddeningly repetitive score, and a listless narrative. Mar 22, 2005 Full Review Sean P. Means Salt Lake Tribune This look inside gay porn... is tepid at best, and the endless series of meetings and to-the-camera sniping between Glenn and his manager/songwriter is torturously dull. Rated: 1.5/4 May 27, 2005 Full Review Ken Fox TV Guide What makes the film more interesting than it might have been, however, is the warm relationship between Glenn and Peter. They're two genuinely nice guys who seem to have formed very different attitudes toward their porn careers. Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 25, 2005 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International Director Christopher Long scrambles to make a feature-length doc out of this flimsy material. Audience Member slow uninteresting doc about a conceited over intitled porn star and his partner Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member "Naked Fame" tries to document porn-star Colton Ford's attempt to get a legit recording contract, and it comes across as a cable-based, one-episode reality series at best. With it's obviously staged moments, pseudo-drama, and endless men in tight tank tops flexing whenever they can while trying to appear natural, the film itself is presented in a way that sadly detracts from the subject at hand. There is no denying Ford's body nor his looks, but this documentary should have been about his talent in terms of singing, and thus it did nothing to give him justice on that level, as the man truly has a great voice, and this film just seemingly exploited him even further. A documentary on someone trying to make a legitimate career for him or herself after being in porn could be asubject of endless interest in the hands of someone professional with his subject's best interest in mind. Sadly, Christopher Long's work comes across as just an extention of Ford's porn career and I think is just an insult to the idea that Ford has. I think he has an incredible instrument, and I do not mean the one that got him into the adult film industry, and I hope that his music career will one day serve him better than this film ever will. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny and quiet deeply touching documentary. Where the gay porn industry meets comercial dance discography and all their fuc... sh... in the middle... there is this little gem. Blake Harper (Colton's boyfriend) is a stunning star here, truly. Underneath its shallow surface remain important issues, i.e. the purpouse of life and preconceptions about media stars Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A good look behind the scenes of the gay porn industry, and what it takes to leave it behind. Colton Ford is a "Sex God" Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member better to ponder starting your own stamp collection than watch this crap Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A whining movie about whining hot gay porn star couple. Blegh for the whining. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
