Audience Member Spritely MGM musical is a nice showcase for a maturing Jane Powell (who sings "Magic Is the Moonlight"), but the top musical honors go to Carmen Miranda. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member ok technicolor musical. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Splashy and elaborate musical is tuneful and humorous. Ann Sothern, Jane Powell and Louis Calhern all give funny spirited performances in a plot that is of course absurd. Carmen Miranda is along for the ride and her outfits are a sight to behold! Her umbrella number is a feast for the eyes and of course she gives it all she's got. Good fun. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Nothing special. Carmen Miranda is Carmen Miranda, and consequently the best part of the movie. Powell's Nancy is entitled and spoiled with none of the charming naivete that would have made this film fun to watch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A REMAKE OF THE SUPERIOR DEANNA DURBIN FILM "IT'S A DATE", IT'S A MILDLY ENTERTAINING MUSICAL. ANN SOTHERN SEEMS OUT OF PLACE IN HER ROLE. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
