Incredibly funny, National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 is full of laughs but goes a little overboard with the parodies. Basically a riff on the Lethal Weapon series, the story follows a pair of LA police detectives who stumble upon a drug running scheme. Featuring Emilio Estevez, Samuel L. Jackson, Kathy Ireland, Tim Curry, and William Shatner, the film has an impressive cast. However, the jokes are rather dated; spoofing the pop-culture of the early '90s. Still, some of the satire is pretty clever and a lot of fun. Though it's uneven and a few of the skits don't work, National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 is outlandishly entertaining.

This may be old, this may be cheesy, and this may be a parody, but this has got to be one of the most insanely funny films I have seen! When you stick Samuel L. Jackson in anything, it tends to be good, and in this situation, it was amazing! There are ridiculous references to so many classic films such as Silence Of The Lambs, Wayne's World, Die Hard, and, of course, Lethal Weapon. There's not much to say when it comes down to the story: cop's partner dies (in a ridiculous way), cop annoyed, cop paired up with a rookie, pair try to take down a corporation trying to spread cocaine in cookies, the usual! What I find best about this film is the cameos from people like Charlie Sheen, and the amazingly comical lines, rip-offs and jokes that come out time after time, after time. For those people, however, that do not find much to films such as Scary Movie, or Superhero Movie, stay well away from this film. If not, then please, welcome aboard, and let the film's total randomness entice you and take you on a hysterical journey...

An hilarious spoof of Lethal Weapon and just buddy cop movies in general. The cast is impressive, too, I loved seeing Shatner as the bad guy, especially. This is probably one of the best spoof movies of the 90s.

Movie Stars: Emilio Estevez, Samuel L. Jackson, Kathy Ireland, William Shatner, Tim Curry, Jon Lovitz, Frank McRae, Whoopie Golberg, F. Murray Abraham, Dennis Leary and Allyce Beasley. Cameos by Charlie Sheen, Phil Hartman, Corey Feldman, Erik Estrada, JT Walsh, Larry Wilcox, James Doohan, Denise Richards, Bill Nunn, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Charles Napier, Richard Moll and Bruce Willis as John McClane. Spoof mainly of Lethal Weapon, Basic Instinct, Die Hard and Silence of the Lambs. I absolutely loved this movie, Charlie and Emilio rock. Emilio did a great job parodying Mel Gibson (especially with his "butt in the moonbeam" walk lol). William Shatner and Samuel L. Jackson do just as great. Kathy Ireland was great here spoofing Sharon Stone. A very entertaining film from the 90's with a lot of funny moments.
