This is probably one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen. I laughed one time. A friend of mine told me about a scene with pastries, and he said it was the funniest scene he's ever seen, and then he proceeded to say that he didn't like films like American Pie… After seeing National Lampoon's Van Wilder I told him American Pie is Shakespeare compared to Van Wilder.

It's great if your in college. I mean, it wasn't any more inappropriate than any other movie of this kind. I went into it thinking the worst thing could happen, but it wasn't that bad. Cornerstone to the subgenre, which this movie basically started. Funny to see where Reynolds got his roots.

These movies from the early 2000's set us up for adult hood.. These movies are the best and im now going to let my 15yr old son watch them.. It will set him up for college and the world as its s.... now... back then life was so much simpler and we were allowed to have a laugh and call people names without them being offended because that was the way we were brought up..

This was a good film. The story was entertaining, the jokes were decent, and the on screen chemistry between Reynolds and Reid was very intriguing. I like how they made Van Wilder a cool guy instead of the douche 99% of other films would have had. 3.5/5 stars man.
