Birithivy Y 11/22/2024 Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale - 6.5/10. To be honest, I kinda was wishing this was more of a look at Nayanthara’s career. It is, but it kinda isn’t too. She’s had an immense amount of success in her career, and it would’ve been cool if she went through her big roles a little more and gave insight as to how she approached the roles and her thought process of picking them. Overall though, this is more of a fan service documentary. And surprisingly, the wedding portion is only for the last 20/30 min or so. As a doc, this is serviceable but leaves room for more, and I guess that makes sense since Nayanthara is still continuing her run as a star. It would be interesting to see a followup to this in the future though! God know!, She will not promote her movies, if her own product, she will go any extend to promote her own production movies & products. Such a crap person in South Indian Cinema. Over-sanitized and self-indulgent, it fails to inspire or engage, reducing itself to a tedious PR exercise. A complete disappointment. I think very few people have a real fairy tale of their life. So, as a documentary, I didn't find it either intriguing and compelling or inspiring. This is my personal view.
