Hoping to halt a steady loss of cattle, ranching father and son Tom (Lafe McKee) and Jim Bledsoe (Bob Steele) fence off the border between their land and the neighbors', sheep ranchers Tug (Alfred Hewston) and Buck (Al Ferguson). Challenged with how to continue managing their sheep, Tug and Buck quarrel. Buck kills Tug, then convinces his daughter, Ruth (Louise Lorraine), that Jim is guilty of murder and stampeding the herd. But unknown to Ruth, Buck and the Bledsoes, the crime had a witness.
