Rebecca Liu Guardian A chilling portrait of a generation frustrated and betrayed, facing a future they don’t quite want to claim. Rated: 3/5 Jun 10, 2024 Full Review Manuel Betancourt Variety Amid such a bleak and slow burn of a premise, Jung’s “Next Sohee” is surprisingly warm-hearted. Jan 19, 2023 Full Review Wendy Ide Screen International Jung’s direction is unshowy but solid, with minimal score and a focus on persuasive performances captured by an empathetic lens. But her writing is less confident... May 26, 2022 Full Review Erik Reeds Spectrum Culture Next Sohee intelligently hones in on critiquing the economic system that causes malaise instead of painting a portrait of hostility coming from all directions. May 21, 2025 Full Review Kevin Harley Radio Times Drawing on a true story, Jung offers no easy solutions but presents a humane and affecting study of systemic failings, where quotas are prioritised over people. Rated: 4/5 Jul 1, 2024 Full Review Matt Oakes Silver Screen Riot Ju-ri paints a portrait of a young adult’s evolution from student-to-worker that’s deeply dehumanizing, revealing a shockingly broken system that’s intentionally stacked against the Sohees of society. Powerful stuff. Rated: B+ May 12, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Stephen C Success in 2.25 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In Korean and English versions with English subtitles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/12/25 Full Review Jennifer S I wasn't able to complete the movie because it was interrupted. However, I was entranced by the movie. The characters were alive and the frustration and hopeless of work and life was palpable. I am more than halfway through but am impressed with the determination and undeterred stance of the investigator. I am cheering her on to right, as best she can, the wrongs done to those so young and hopeful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
