A suspenseful night in Paris ensues with crooked cops, intense chases and confronting gore. The taxi driver is faceless, menacing and unnerving due to his silence and slow movements before he even gets violent. Scenes are mashed with the two friends arguing about their friendship, love triangle and past issues which is very effective, adding to the urgency. Score/soundtrack is great, adds to atmosphere at relevant times and the foreboding is increased by cuts to the taxi's metre that is always climbing after each brutal interaction. There is more to the taxi driver vigilante than you first suspect. Great film. See more 05/28/2020 Massively underrated horror thriller with a nice twist ending. It marries aspects of The Duel and Halloween but subverts them successfully. Way better than the audience score suggests, which is unusual. A solid 75% at least.
