Time Out While the film has the charm of rose-tinted retrospect and is often very funny, the pacing is wrong (it seems much longer than it is) and the sex scenes fail to convince. Jan 26, 2006 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) Sure it doesn't fully work, but Jimmy Reardon has its moments of inspired eccentricity. Audience Member Absolutely loved it when I was young and had a huge crush River Phoenix. Intelligent look into a Adolescent almost adult sexual maturity and the state of PSYCHOLOGY understanding of the mature and teen girl séduction prowess of Jimmy Reardon. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member As I have gotten older, I start to see why this movie is as well thought of as I used to think of it. It was a flick my mom didn't know was R, so I watched the hell out of it. River Phoenix was my favorite actor at the time and consumed all things River. Plus, Ione Skye and Meredith Salenger... SO HOT! Side note it was because of this (Matthew Perry's film debut) & Leprechaun (Jen Aniston's Debut) that I started watching Friends. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/06/18 Full Review Audience Member a little corny at times, but overall i enjoyed the film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a film where I honestly don't know why it's so low-rated. It's a good movie. It's interesting and of course, River was spectacular at executing his character. I really enjoyed this film, there were funny moments as well as dramatic ones. It was a well-balanced, deep film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Didn't realize there was a River Phoenix movie that I hadn't seen yet. Entertaining enough. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This flick wasn't heinous but had few quality things going for it - River Phoenix's pompadour, Ione Skye as a total mega-b*tch and Matthew Perry as a complete dork. Other than that, the title character was such a douche that it was hard to root for him or anyone else in this flick. When he finally gets the crap kicked out of him, I was almost cheering. And Meredith Salenger was just blah... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
