[You] might enjoy yourself if you’re eager to watch a symbolically vague killer torment yet another sobbing but resilient woman-shaped thought experiment. Go to Full Review

Night of the Hunted may fall a bit short of moral substance, but it certainly holds us in its grip. Go to Full Review

NIGHT OF THE HUNTED is a well-made film that asks its audience several uncomfortable questions. The plot’s tense situation of a mass shooting parallels the dangers of our world and our willingness to fight for our beliefs against zealots. Go to Full Review

Night of the Hunted is a well-made thriller, but it sure ain’t fun. In fact, it’s a nasty piece of work. Director Franck Khalfoun isn’t interested in glorifying the violence or making a fun night at the movies. Go to Full Review

After a certain point, I wished him dead… less so innocent lives could be saved, and more just so he would shut up. Go to Full Review

ploodie b Nov 17 Boss girl who is tired of men who think they know what she should do (she literally shouts this at her lover during the introduction) gets trapped in a convenience store by a sniper who is literally a ChatGPT amalgam of every alt-right talking point that exists. The first half hour is competently done as bullets start flying with no explanation. Our heroine (Alice) is trapped and has to try to use whatever she can reach in the store to try to survive. Others enter the store and try to help only to predictably meet a grisly demise. Everything's working fine until the shooter starts talking to her through a walkie he left in the store. And rather than the truly terrifying motiveless killer, instead we find out through about a 20 minute stretch of nearly uninterrupted dialogue that he is All the Jedi .. I mean all the alt-right. He spews every single right-wing extreme conspiracy theory while Alice mostly just listens, occasionally shouting things about how she can't have children because men like him exist and "it's My. F**king. Choice!" ..and so forth. The filmmakers clearly found this messaging more important than delivering an effective thriller, because once the speech starts the setup of her situation lazily goes out the window. Suddenly she is able to go anywhere she wants in the store, even outside, without a single bullet flying. In the end, a child is witness to the final over-the-top violent and gory confrontation between the two. The camera keeps lingering on her seeing it all in shocked horror before running away down the road into the end credits. I think the message was meant to be that the children are the real victims of the violence we adults are unleashing on each other. But it would have been far more effective if the film had made Alice equally an amalgam of the far-lefts talking points. But of course.. we can't have that! Sloppy mess of a movie and wasted opportunity. There is a much better Sniper horror movie on Shudder called DOWNRANGE if you want an effective and jarring thriller without the shoe horned political preaching. Felt more like a political hit piece against Republicans than anything else. I'm not American. Wouldn't watch it again. See more Pinoy Short R Sep 18 Panalo. Kung tutuusin napaka generic ng istorya. Pero dahil sa mahusay na pag ganap ng bida, isang edge of your seat thriller horror ang resulta. Di na ko magtataka dahil si Alexander Aja nag produced pala nito na kilala sa The Hills have Eyes remake See more John W Aug 5 The film was suspenseful. But overall not much happens, and I didn't find the killer's motives very convincing. See more Mike Y. @dabbadoo Aug 4 Don’t waste your time See more steven d Jul 13 Good thriller.
