Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Night of the Reaper is worth watching around Halloween but could have used a less twist-oriented screenplay to get the job done. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 25, 2025 Full Review Ian Bunting Daily Record (UK) Night of the Reaper is a true mixed bag. Strangely, its writing is its biggest flaw and plus, while the directing lends it an uncomfortable atmosphere. Oct 14, 2025 Full Review Cole Groth FandomWire Night of the Reaper is the quintessential Shudder original; a fine, 90-minute distraction that offers just enough mystery and atmosphere to keep dedicated horror fans engaged. Rated: 6/10 Sep 29, 2025 Full Review Christian Toto HollywoodInToto.com Indie slasher grabs our attention until third-act twists dampen the fun. Rated: 3/4 Sep 24, 2025 Full Review Cheryl Eddy io9.com If the final reveals get a little too talky as Christensen hurries to explain all that’s come before, you have to appreciate the effort to fill in as many blanks as possible. Sep 24, 2025 Full Review Lee Zumpe Tampa Bay Newspapers Much like David Lynch ripped the idyllic façade off suburban life to reveal the dreadfulness and depravity beneath the surface, Christensen presents the viewer with a deceptive veneer that quickly bubbles and cracks. Stephen G. We have us an old-fashioned case of Horror who done it going on, and it doesn't look good for our local authorities. What a vile person this Killer is, too bad our main character is an amazing thinker. I hate to say it, but I'm very impressed with this "who done it" film. They actually had from the go, and I'm very surprised and freaking overjoyed at the outcome... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/25 Full Review Lori B This movie would have gotten 5 stars but I just couldn't get together with the lead actress. I loved this movie. The twists and turns and just when you think it's over nope something else happens. I've never seen the lead before and I hope to never again since she kind of ruined what should have been 5 stars for me, but I definitely recommend watching this you might have a different opinion of her acting style. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/19/25 Full Review Troy R Decent story with good tie in to earlier scenes later on. Killer stuff was very generic but creepy at points. The ending was really interesting and turned the movie around from being just a basic killer flick. Acting was ok, some of the scenes were a bit overly dramatic. One thing I do always find a little disappointing with human killer movies is the unrealistic way that they can sneak around the house and setup little scares without any real explanation as to how. But its one of those things you just kind of accept with these kinds of movies. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/15/25 Full Review Bryan M. This movie is really good. I thought the time period was perfect, the story was great, maybe dragged a little bit but the ending was fantastic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/13/25 Full Review Edwin O Definitely has its flaws but I found this to be moderately entertaining. Worth the watch! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/08/25 Full Review sebastian andres o It's a film that fulfills its purpose; it may not be the best of its genre this year, but the director's intention to offer something fresh to the audience is evident. In my opinion, the film delivers with enthusiasm, although, of course, it has some weaknesses. However, at no point does the story seem to stray. It's a journey that keeps you attentive and, above all, enjoying what's on screen. It could have been much more well-rounded, but it chooses to prioritize its plot twists, a choice that at times takes away some of the impact it truly deserves. A recommended film for fans of the slasher genre: it delivers, it entertains, and it genuinely makes you jump out of your seat. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/06/25 Full Review Read all reviews
