Reviews 50% Fewer than 50 Ratings Audience Score Mona and Robby are a young couple in love. Robby has just landed his dream job, and they’ve scored an amazing deal on a spacious, if run-down, flat. Never mind that it requires quite a bit of renovation. Never mind the neighbors’ constant fighting, and screaming baby... Never mind that Mona is suddenly plagued by night terrors which grow more intense every time she falls asleep… Robby is eager to start a family, despite Mona’s hesitation. Phil Hoad Guardian Nightmare does maintain a crepuscular glower throughout, and Rasmussen chops up waking and dream scenes to disorientating effect; sometimes we’re not sure which is which. Rated: 3/5 Sep 27, 2023 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Beautifully acted, the film by turns charms and repulses its audience, all the way to its abrupt and shocking ending. Rated: 4/5 Sep 29, 2023 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies The central question of the story of Nightmare is what's real and what isn't. There's a more important question the movie doesn't answer, though: Why does it matter? Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 29, 2023 Full Review Hope Madden MaddWolf Harboe’s understated turn, particularly in a handful of breathtaking scenes, helps Rasmussen blisteringly articulate an everyday horror women face. Craig B Nightmare is not too bad a movie, but it's not really that scary. Interesting examination of Mare lore, and certainly has some tense moments. Well acted and with some solid atmospheric scenes, it's more of a brooding, dark drama with creepy undertones than a straight out horror movie. If you're looking to watch a good horror movie with some jump scares, this isn't it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/11/23 Full Review Whit C This movie was absolutely brilliant, proving yet again that we need more women writing and directing horror films. I'll be thinking about this one for a long time to come. Well-acted, decadent cinematography, compelling premise, and the ending is flawless. We need dozens more films like this please and thank you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/09/23 Full Review ELB S 'Nightmare' is a tight, taught, disorienting thriller with a deep undertow of dread.
