Nightmare Detective ist ein japanischer Horrorfilm von Regisseur und Drehbuchautor Shin'ya Tsukamoto. Die Geschichte spielt in der Anonymität der Großstadt Tokio, die Stadt wirkt modern aber auch kalt, Anonym und todessehnsüchtig… . Die Story hat auch einen Mystischen Einschlag von Träumen, Suizid und Seppuku… . Die Hauptdarsteller Ryūhei Matsuda in der Rolle von Nightmare Detective, und Hitomi als Keiko Kirishima geben ein fantastisches Spiel ab.

Perhaps an A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET inspired piece maybe. Once again, a could-be potential story being narrated in a very boring plus dragging way in the hands of Japanese (production).
