The movie never takes itself seriously and director Tom Wright (TV's "Beauty and the Beast") has fun with the wrestling montages. Hogan himself has an appealing screen presence -- like a gallant teddy bear who goes berserk every 10 minutes or so.

While no cinematic masterpiece, it's a fun watch for fans if pro wrestling. 80s cheese at its cheesiest. Though I always felt he should have just played himself.

No Holds Barred is a pretty decent movie it's a good watch if you are wrestling fan you would like it and to me is an 80s classic even though it didn't get a good review if you a hawkamania fan you enjoy it and God bless Tiny Lister Jr I give it a thumbs up👍👍

Look: the fact that you are looking at this movie means you're not looking for some cinematic masterpiece. You want 90s schlock - a stupid action movie with inconsistent and absolute nonsense for a plot that ends exactly how you'd expect it to end. And you want it to be generally and genuinely corny as a state faire food both. Congratulations - look no further. When it comes to 90s trash cinema. When it comes to reaching that potential? It's top of the charts.
